What Degas Mode Does in an Ultrasonic Cleaner

Degassing prepares freshly added cleaning liquid by removing dissolved gas before cleaning the load. A dedicated degas mode and an automatic degas sequence can perform that preparation differently, so the button name alone does not tell you how to use it.
Prepare the liquid before inserting the load
Elma's Easy R manual calls for freshly added liquid to be degassed without the basket or objects. Cleaning agent, when used, is added before that preparation. Follow the instructions for your own model rather than borrowing another cleaner's timer setting.
Fresh refill is the relevant event in that instruction. A routine copied from another machine, or the absence of a visible cloud of bubbles, is not a substitute for the specified preparation.
Standalone mode or automatic sequence?
A standalone mode lets you prepare the bath as a separate operation. Easy R's automatic sequence performs degassing and then starts the selected ultrasonic cleaning mode. That automatic transition is a documented feature of this range; do not infer it from a Degas button on another unit.
Read how your machine ends preparation and when it expects the basket to be inserted. If it has no dedicated degas button, look for a documented preparation method in its manual before assuming that the step is unnecessary.
How long should you degas the bath?
Use the preparation cycle specified by the exact model. The Easy R manual describes a dedicated degas mode and automatic preparation; that is not evidence for assigning the same minute count to a CREWORKS, VEVOR or household cleaner. Check whether the stated time is for fresh-liquid preparation or the subsequent cleaning cycle. A product page that merely lists a Degas button leaves the operating sequence unresolved.
